Meet Katie….
One Breath Creative is an underwater art and visual storytelling platform founded by Katie Jackson, an award-winning underwater photographer and published artist based on Australia’s east coast.
Built from lived experience, ocean literacy and creative depth, the work has evolved beyond portrait photography into a practice that sits at the intersection of ocean, adventure and nervous-system-aware storytelling. Katie partners with brands, publications and creatives to create underwater imagery that feels calm, human and emotionally resonant in an increasingly fast and artificial world.
Her approach treats the ocean not as a backdrop, but as a regulatory environment. Grounded in safety, embodiment and Blue Mind principles, each project is designed to slow the viewer, build trust and communicate values through felt experience rather than performance. The environment does the heavy lifting, allowing authenticity, playfulness and presence to emerge without force.
Katie’s work has appeared on magazine covers and in luxury, wellness and editorial publications and has been recognised in national photographic competitions. Her perspective is shaped by an unconventional path, including a background in anthropology and law, a decade living in France and her life as a solo mother to three children, two of whom are neurodivergent. This lived understanding of environment, capacity and care informs both her creative process and the way she works with people.

Katie’s mission is to create work that helps people and brands reconnect with nature, regulate attention and communicate belonging without intimidation, while advocating for diversity in storytelling and championing environmental respect through ocean-based practice.
One Breath Creative is not only about creating unique art and immersive experiences that connect clients with nature; it’s a driving force for change, education and best practice in business, the community and the environment.
My ‘office’ is the Australian coastline, so sustainability has always been at the forefront of my mind when creating this business model. I’m passionate about promoting positive habits and respectful behaviours in the natural environment and creating a platform for education.
